Frustrating...

So we are still waiting...

Rik is off work for at least the next two weeks, resting up as he needs to do.  He's still having some bleeding...but frustrations in the system is where today's mini rant will lie.

He called the GP yesterday to get a "fit for work" note (they are not called sick notes any more) and also left a message with his consultant's secretary chasing for the follow up appointment post second op.

Today he calls the GP again to see if the note is ready (it's not) and discovers they have had the results of tests on his urine from last week back...but didn't call.  All was fine, but why no call?  Surely there should've been a call?  You'd have maybe thought that someone who had a cancer in their urinary system might want to now results and have some reassurance?  No?  Just us?  Apparently it's "just the way they do it"...hmmmm

He also gets a call back from the consultant's secretary, who gets a bit snotty and "reminds" him about the appointment in September that is in the diary already.  It should be noted that the appointment in September 

a. was relating to the kidney removal back in April; 

b. was cancelled and rescheduled as it was too late for the post-op appointment for said kidney removal back in April; 

c. is too late (ie out of the six week window) to be a follow up appointment for the bladder operation.  

I am also proud that he has ranted a little over the lack of information coming to us and the five minutes we spent meeting a different consultant just before said different consultant operated on him, all without real time for questions to be thought of or even to know who this man was!

So we are still waiting...

I need a little patience...and cheering up, having a down day.  Stupid brain running away with itself...think a Chinese is in order tonight.
